Audrey Anderson b. 1982 completed a BA Fine Arts (honours) degree at the University of Pretoria specializing in narrative drawing and illustration. After University she worked for 6 months as a junior art director in Dubai on the Atlantis, Palm Jumeirah project. She then returned to South Africa to manage an art gallery in Pretoria. Her first major show took place in 2008 at Gordart in Johannesburg. After that she participated in a project space exhibition and a few group shows at IArt Gallery in Cape Town.
Anderson has exhibited in many exhibition spaces, galleries and art fairs from 2009-2013. From 2009 – 2013 she worked part-time at VANSA (Visual Arts Network of South Africa) as their communications coordinator. In 2013 she started taking part in artist development projects supported by Nando’s and Spier, this afforded her the opportunity to change her career from part-time to a full-time fine artist. Apart from her professional arts practice Anderson has worked as an illustrator commissioned mostly by Design agencies and Publishing houses. She is currently working full time as artist in Asemblage, a collective studio space in Newtown, Johannesburg.
