So with that in mind, I designed a poster that will express your love and support to her and strengthen the bond that you share, comforting her during any stage of her breast cancer journey”
I’m Cam Hinde, a 17-year-old student at 6th Form St John’s College, Johannesburg. I’m passionate about raising awareness for women’s empowerment causes, through the HYF Foundation. My mother survived Stage 3 breast cancer after going through a rigorous treatment protocol, so I understands first hand what the breast cancer journey is all about.
The campaign is a call-to-action to encourage all moms to get checked annually, as early detection can save your mother’s life. The good news is that most women survive breast cancer, if it’s found and treated early. A mammogram – the screening test for breast cancer – can help find a cancerous lump early, when it’s easier to treat.
My banner is about ‘Honouring survivors and Remembering loved ones’. Each of our actions – big or small – counts in the fight against any form of cancer.

In support of October 2018 Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease, HYF (The Hinde Youth Foundation) teamed up with Cinecentre to raise funds for CANSA by organising a movie night on Thursday, the 25th October 2018 at Cinecentre, Killarney.
All proceeds raised will be donated to CANSA.
